The beta version of Service Pack 3 [SP3] for Windows XP is now. The official release date of XP SP3 is rumored to be made available via Windows Update April 29, 2008. This latest update Service Pack for Windows XP will offer more security updates than anything else. No change in the design, even if a slight increase in operating speed up to 10% have been reported.
You can download the SP3 now if you wish. Visit homepage of Microsoft and follow the link for Windows XP Service Pack 3. I do not recommend this method for obtaining Service Pack 3. I suggest you wait for the service pack update to be made available through Windows Update to be confirmed April 29 2008 []. This update has been proven stronger than the beta.
Windows XP Service Pack 3 does not include major new features. However, it includes four new features that improve system reliability and operating safety.
They are:
Network Access Protection compatibility. This feature allows Windows XP machines to interact with the NAP feature in Windows Server 2008. This feature is built into the RTM version of Windows Vista.
The key product, less installation option. As Windows Vista, XP SP3 new installation can proceed without entering a product key during installation.
Kernel Mode Cryptographic module. A new kernel module that "encapsulates several cryptographic algorithms," according to Microsoft.
"Black Hole" algorithms Detection router. XP gains the ability to ignore network routers that incorrectly drop certain kinds of network packets. This, too, is a feature of Windows Vista.
It has been four years since it released Windows XP Service Pack 2, so the latter Update service pack late. Windows XP, in general, not be supported beyond the middle of 2009, and it is hoped that SP1 for works Vista version and although most bars problems with Vista.
To install XP Service Pack 3 must be under XP with Service Pack 1, at least, and ideally XP Service Pack 2. There are 1073 registered a total fixed in XP SP3.
Many users are accustomed to Windows XP Service Pack that corrects two most XP themes, and the idea to upgrade to Vista in its current version and reported problems and issues that put a lot of people upgrade to Vista, including me.
When Windows 98 is not compatible was still using Windows 98, Windows XP was in a similar situation how Vista is now. So I guess patience and wait for Microsoft to "fix" Vista will be the case of dà © jà vu and Vista will be much more stable than Microsoft finally released ending support for Windows XP.
If you use Windows XP and install / update to Service Pack 3 is strongly recommended that this be the last Update for Windows XP Service Pack.
