How to fix a wire chewing?

My dog chewed the cord on my Wacom tablet. Not all gum way, because only managed to Strip the outer layer. However, there are some places where the string of bits. How do I solve this problem? I've heard of electrical tape and cut the wire and twist together, but how? I am a little hesitant to cut the cable, but I will if I am not sure what to do. (An image or video surveillance would be very appreciated!) Thank you! The Eagle: How do I do? Ok, but how and where can I go to replace something like that?
