Problems with Wacom tablet: Help?

I borrowed this tablet to a friend and I just realized I have no idea how to use it. D: No box, no instructions, no pen … nothing – that he compressed and the cable that goes with it. It is the size my head, the model says: ET-0405A-U, but I have no idea what that means. My questions: Do I need a Wacom pen that is used? Is there something I should install to work properly? (I have a system that I use: OpenCanvas, I'm not sure you need a drive or something should be installed.) And if so, where can I get these things? Are they expensive? Thank you, doodle

on what I have is a pencil and a mouse, it is useless without at least one of them, and you must load a driver that can be downloaded online

that is a wacom graphire 2 tablet. I picked one up at goodwill for $10. it is 100% useless without it’s pen.

I dont understand “what I have is a pencil and a mouse” do you have the stylus/pen/pencil thing that came with it? it’ about $60 to buy a new one, but wacom graphire 3 pens work well with it. I’d say buy a broken tablet and steal it for it’s pen.

and it depends on what OS you have. I have vista and I dont need a driver. but if you have any OS lower, you prolly need to download it. then again, its 100% useless without it’s pen.
