Graphic Tablet / Software Help!?

I'm in the market for tablets for use digital art and I decided the Wacom Intuos 3 A5. I made comes with some pretty crap programs (Corel Painter Essentials 2 and nik Color Efex Pro 2.0). I want a software more powerful as Photoshop or Painter X to do my digital art. What do you think is better? Also can you give me an idea on how to obtain these products less expensive? The software and the tablet all expensive.

Photoshop and Painter Which is best depends on your style of art and how I work. Photoshop is a catch-all program that is ideal for photo editing, creating graphics, drawing and coloring and beautiful thing. Painter is just that – paint (and drawing). It is a very powerful program that simulates all art media types means natural pens and pencils to oil and is better for artists who are familiar with traditional media and create digital paintings rather than graphics. If you just want to draw and color, I recommend Painter Photoshop. If you want a program that can do everything, Photoshop is probably the best choice. The best way to decide is to download Free trials of the two official websites and use some tutorials for beginners from each one of them – see what feels most comfortable to use. As someone mentioned, there are many cheaper versions for students, but otherwise I'm afraid you're not chance. Sometimes you may get the older versions of books or magazines free software, so perhaps it does some serious hunting may be able convert a gem somewhere – differences between versions are often small. Good luck. :)
