Can I download a demo of Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and use the serial code?

Well, I bought a Wacom Bamboo Tablet and it came with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0. I put on my computer and not loaded. Can I download Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 and use the code from 6.0? I have the serial number.

Not the same version is not compatible
