Wacom Bamboo Accessories?

I recently gave a pill. It came with the end pieces and a small metal object and sought on Google but I can not solve what is ^ ^ I would have thought the product came with additional information on accessories. However, the manual refers to the website and I still have to find information on the metal object. My question is please can someone tell me what and if it is important? Thank you.
