Wireless Problems?

I just bought a new Gateway C-140X Tablet Notebook, I ordered with Windows XP. I Internet broadband, and use a router Netgear WPNT834 I can connect to a new PC, but then takes care of all equipment and resets the settings, then freezes, must do everything possible to restart manually. Is it because it was not Windows Vista, XP now, or just supported?
