How do I get my Toshiba Portege M200 to use my TV as secondary display?

I have a GeForce FX 5200 graphics card. I bought a simple adapter that connects to the VGA port and the "is" a virtual port for television. When I connect to my TV, I can see is a distorted, colorless. I tried to adjust the display controls and NVIDIA XP but nothing seems to work. Television and the excellent work of the adapter configuration tablet is what I can do well. Thank you.

Not knowing what I tried it's hard to say. But keep in mind that the resolution of standard televisions is much lower than an LCD or CRT of a computer. Therefore, the video card is adapted to a lower resolution to detect a TV (if that is what is passing). If you try to extend your desktop to a standard TV, it will not work right. The text will be blurred on the TV for sure, and Windows does be unable to obtain a fairly low resolution. Connecting a TV to a computer is about only good for display video. Recent LCD or Plasma TV usually come with a VGA input port, you can use. Perhaps it is time for an update day!
