What clothes should I pack, go to South Africa at the end of August?

Hi, I'm going to South Africa in late August, Cape Town, Mpumalanga and Kruger Park. What clothes should I wear? I know it's still winter. I thought of a quilt and a few sweaters and a denim jacket. What else? What pills against malaria? Any help will be appreciated, thank you!
