How much omega 3 fish oil should I give my dog 4 pounds?

I have a tablet splitter and divide the 1000 mg tablet into thirds or quarters. She is a Maltese to Flakey dry skin and I think it would be useful. She also has seizures and is on phenobarbital. Thank you for the help!

I always heard 1000mg per 10 pounds of dog, then maybe 500mg would do.
