In February 2009, new and updated Kindle 2 was launched and consolidated the current position of the Amazon as the dominant player on the market for electronic books.
Â
In May 2009, three months after the launch of the Kindle 2, Kindle Amazon has announced the DX – a larger version the Kindle with a large screen and the ability to read PDF files natively.
Â
It is clear that Amazon ebook view the market as a target for future growth and it should be noted that if there are currently no alternatives for e-book readers, there was little if any, the competitors with the size and infrastructure needed to challenge the dominance of the Amazon – until now.
Â
In early June 2009, Google has confirmed it has launched a program for authors to sell digital versions of books online by the end of 2009. This follows an earlier commitment, the public domain available in digital format to download books – and led to a partnership with Sony, which announced in March that would make Google Library public domain eBooks available through the Sony eBook Reader PRS.
Â
Google scheme will allow greater variety in the way of book readers electronic access. Google does not seem to limit downloads to a reader property. At that time, books downloaded to Amazon Kindle Store can be played either in the Amazon Kindle itself, or on the Apple iPod Touch or iPhone enforcement of appropriate reading Kindle.
Â
This may be easier for authors Books – Amazon has been criticized for keeping too great a proportion of revenues from electronic books downloaded from the website.
Â
The future market e-book and electronic book readers is huge, so it may no surprise that meets the Amazon competition for a share of revenue potential. However, until now most new developments in the field have been companies intending to market their own e-book readers, such as Plastic Logic, which recently announced the launch of a DX-sized player in 2010.
Â
Gigantic Google library titles available for electronic use in a number of hardware platforms different, has the potential to alter market completely downloadable electronic books in the near future.
Â
It is also remarkable that in a slightly ironic how the Kindle has often been called the "iPod of reading" Apple could be launching rate Tablet PC 2010 – which is placed somewhere between iPod Touch and a MacBook. It seems reasonable to suppose that this may have a feature to read ebooks, possibly in a different variety source files.
Â
Perhaps more important than considerations of material – it did not have much imagination to predict that Apple iStore could expand to include electronic books, as has already expanded to include video, when it launched the iPod Touch. Moreover, Apple will continue with an application that allows users to read Kindle books on your Apple hardware then position Amazon could be further strengthened.
Â
Amazon is a tribute to that almost all new development is the area of e-book is labeled the new "Kindle killer. There is no doubt that competition will be fierce in this market in the near future. Amazon have certainly not all that their own way for long. Yet it is the dominant force in the market and could reasonably be expected to play an important role in the future of electronic reading.
