DVDs are quite expensive, and are actually very fragile. Hard drives are relatively inexpensive and very durable.

Would not it be great if could rip DVDs and save them as files on your hard drive of your computer.

Well, actually you can, but take a moment to reflect about why the land that would be:

To copy the VOB files and play them on your computer:

1. Insert the DVD you want to copy your computers DVD drive.
2. SmartRipper Open.

5. In the bottom of the check "All files" checkbox.
6. In the destination area, click on "Choose Folder" and select a folder to store DVD inches

This method works perfectly, but the problem is that the VOB files are huge! For most movies this will result in 5 GB file size! Note: you simply divide files if you intend to convert them to VCD, if you do then just save them on your hard drive of your computer. You can use your favorite Media Player to play files that are stored on your hard disk your computer.
