As for a new computer system that meets your business needs? Whether you're looking at a system for your office or a restaurant, a couple things you should keep in mind when installing systems that will handle all data from your office and help you operate your business.

1. The cable network. The majority of PC-based systems are designed to work with Microsoft technology Windows. This means that their work stations and computers that communicate via the standard Ethernet network. Although wireless communications are becoming increasingly popular for home and office environments, the preferred method is to "integrate" their computer workstations. Some manufacturers offer this service in its offer, while others specify the wiring must be hired by a third party vendor.

Although work on wiring, this which must be completed and tested before installation of equipment. Each computer equipment must have a drop cable. A cable drop is the wiring between the computer and its Ethernet transceiver.

For a title = "Restaurant POS System"> POS Restaurant system, the restaurant must be connected to the CAT 5 or 6 cabling network that connects each workstation conceivable POS, remote printer or KDS, desktop computer, the docking station, the delivery order desks, boxes and network server to run a household, such as surface a central patch panel, preferably in the phone or electrical room or closet. Roads needed to ensure that cables are at least 24 inches of fluorescent lights, neon transformers and electric motors, since these devices for communication wiring may interfere with individual units.

2. Electrical. Install a dedicated circuit isolated from their POS equipment, such as sales equipment, network devices such as hubs and routers and phone systems to share. No other electrical device should be in this circuit. I prefer to get on your network, telephone service and electricity close to each other. A circuit isolated means that the circuit has an independent cause of the electrical main. This prevents spikes and waves that can disrupt cards mothers and hard drives. Note, however, you may want use protection against surges on each workstation.

3. Properly designed work area. When it comes to developing areas workstation, be sure to leave more space to comfortably accommodate all equipment needed there. A large floor space in the server stations must be large enough to place your computer monitor, printer, user registration, and possibly a terminal credit card if different teams are planning to use credit card. Make sure you have enough room under the table to keep the computer, surge protector, power strip and UPS power.

If you want to save their jobs woodworking surfaces such as granite or wood, the contractor's pre-drill holes, if necessary to install cables or power cords under surface. A 2 inch holes should provide sufficient space for cables in most href = "http://www.pos-for-restaurants.com/" target = "_blank" title = "POS"> POS systems.

For station cashier and bartender, table space must be large enough to fit easily in a drawer of cash and filing an order confirmation to the customer. Most cash drawers have a footprint (space) 15 – 17 inches deep, 16 – 20 inches in width and height of 3.5 to 4 inches. Make sure you get Specifications of the box with your provider in advance if you build a custom desk that the drawer is hidden on or under the counter.

4. Service plans as part of your system. Most sellers can provide service plans as part of your initial purchase. The fact is that the systems the company level are composed of materials that will not last forever, especially in restaurants. Printers possibly breaking slowl fans fail, and the hard drives will crash. How often will depend on the conditions under which they operate. Dirt, dust, heat and humidity are the most common danger to restaruant offices and Sales of equipment.

I've seen some systems that rarely have problems, while others deal with them constantly. The best thing that a restaurant owner can do is invest in a good team and protect your investment for maintenance. Many suppliers solutions point of sale offer ongoing service contracts that are basically extended warranties. The annual cost of these services varies usually between 10 percent 20 per cent of the original purchase price.

The computer system represents a considerable investment. But if you take time and planning necessary to properly implement and maintain the system, are more likely to be given a return on your investment by getting the most out of your cuts of system cost, labor savings, and ensure that you can account for all species.
