Modding / Hacking a laptop into a tablet?

I have seen people hack into a Mac to a tablet … I was wondering on a different aspect, it is possible to hack into a regular laptop rotate your screen like a tablet? I am not a technician, I was just curious:-P Edit: Lol, I would like to Buy a Tablet PC, but I'm poor at the moment …
