The ultra-portable, versatile little laptop, no doubt
play an important role in our wireless struggle to be constantly
connected. This the portability of notebook or laptop
computer that has the most appeal and is its major sales
point. And its popularity is growing.

It is estimated that more than 42 million laptops
came this year in 2005. The market for portable and
laptops grows at a rate of 20% per year
by notebook manufacturers to Taiwan. And they must
know – how that 70% of these laptops or its components

But it's portability and wireless communication devices such
offer the popularity growing among most users.

Just how wireless communication is ensured by
laptop or notebook, you ask?

Computer uses three main wireless standards portable wireless data
To transfer data. The probably most common is
802.11b, also known as Wi-Fi means Wireless Fidelity.

Wi-Fi 802.11b transfers data wirelessly at speeds up to
Up 11 Mbps 150 feet. It uses the frequency band 2.4 GHz radio
even if it says 11Mbps is likely to get only about 4-6Mbps
in actual use. But this is not enough bandwidth for high speed
Internet gaming and most file transfers.

The 802.11a standard is which uses the 5GHz radio spectrum
It has 8 channels available instead of only 3 that is available with
802.11b. The "A" version can also improve transfer to a maximum
54Mbps.

Another standard, 802.11g, is a hybrid of "A" and "B" – as its
capacity of 54 Mbps, but uses the frequency band 2.4 GHz and supports
with 802.11b devices. Some laptops like the Fujitsu LifeBook N6010,
have a system tri-mode 802.11a/b/g wireless uses three channels!
The technology follows the wireless 3G EV-DO! Sons
as one of those robots from Starwars funny – but represents
Evolution-Data Optimized. This new technology will change the way
display and use the World Wide Web.

Verizon Wireless 3G EV-DO started commercial operations in October
2003 and now extends to over 125 million consumers in the United States by the end
2005. With download speeds of 400 to 700 kbps and bursts up to 2 Mbps
3G has really given wireless internet yet. It is or will
to make the Internet a true wireless is devoid of any
cables or lines. It will be everywhere – there is no space within our biosphere
be without the Internet very soon.

Of course, we must bear in mind that any group of computers can be
done using a wireless router and wireless adapter Wireless Network
for each team. In addition, many laptops and computers come with a
Bluetooth module that allows wireless communication between
all types of electronic devices – from cell phones to computers to
stereo headphones.

However, if you create a wireless network or if you use
your laptop or wireless laptop in hotels and airports – security
be a concern. Anybody in the distance, they have the right equipment
and a little ingenuity can access the wireless system. For large
undertakings or guarantees to the owner humble to be taken to
prevent unwanted visitors from interrupting your wireless network for peaceful purposes
universe.

Generally there are two basic methods of protecting wireless networks, WEP
and MAC address filtering. The MAC (Media Access Control) is the physical
address or unique hardware identifier assigned to each device on the network.
Then manually enter an address list you can use or access your
Wireless network.

Screening for others is more secure, WEP or Wireless Encryption
Protocol requires key shared between users, then use this key to
encrypt and decrypt data transmitted between network users.

Several large hotel chains and other companies now offer "Wi-Fi '
services as a convenience to its customers. These "points hot "
bloom everywhere, even at some stations. You may login or get
a password or key to access these services.

But as their cell phone conversations, the transmission of radio or
transmission will not be as secure than a wired connection. Keep this in
mind if privacy is an important concern for you. But do not stop
to enjoy the convenience, portability and feasibility of a
mobile or wireless phones.

It's a wireless world, after everything.
