Are there any companies known to work on a Walkman-style HD Radio?

I was looking for HD Radio products (because Transmission is free, no monthly membership fees that Sirius or XM), but all models resemble stereo desktop at home. Is there anyone who goes out with a portable laptop type HD product soon?

I doubt it. They really need to refine their table models and the first car. I tried one at Radio Shack, a $ 300 Boston Acoustics. It was in a square tent in the suburbs and that was as close to the front window as possible, connected to a set of rabbit ears. Could collect about 25 stations of analog FM quality audible. For high definition stations, which could collect 1. Only 1! There were about 9 other stations, he was sure had HD transmissions, but the signs were not strong enough for radio to pick them up. You really have a strong signal to get the super high definition and I got no station no sub-channels. Quality has been a little better, but nothing I'm going wow. I was more interested in the sub-channels that different types of music played, but unfortunately I could not get in the store. Maybe if I hit home for a large antenna that I work better. However, most channels of business and has one of the reasons why they ended up driving satellite radio. Of course I have to pay for it, but I have 10 caps for commercial purposes. It's like the difference between cable and free television. However, the Reception AM radio felt that everything that is not admissible in HD there. I think this will be a few years for them to perfect their techniques before you start seeing radio better and maybe then we'll start to see the portable units in operation.
