Many graphics programs provide an opportunity to work in RGB (Red, Green, Blue) or CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color space. For understand each color that we must understand how they are used and why they are used.
RGB color spaces
When working with RGB they literally work with light. Recalling the school when white light shines through a prism to obtain spectra different color. The most basic colors are red, green and blue. The colors of my strength is measured on a scale of 0-255 for all three colors (255 ³ or 16 million colors). If you have no color (R = 0, G = 0, B = 0) black tea, if you have 100% of three colors (R = 255 G = 255 B = 255), white tea.
CMYK color spaces
When working with CMYK you are working with pigments and is used for printing. Almost all color printers (inkjet, laser printers, dye printers and even full color offset and rotary) CMYK. Some printers come with more than one shade of cyan and magenta to produce combinations of colors, but they are all essentially CMYK printers. All CMYK colors are based on paper that is printed in white. CMYK is measured as a percentage from 0% to 100% for 4 colors. If you do not color (C = 0%, M = 0%, Y = 0%, K = 0%) found themselves with the white (the white paper.) To be black, you can use 100% Black and 0% of all other colors (known as black flag), or use a combination of all colors to give a deep black called Rich Black. The most common relationship of color to become rich has been popularized by Adobe Photoshop which uses this ink mixture when converting RGB to CMYK black (C = 63%, M = 52%, Y = 51%, K = 100%).
When using the RGB or CMYK
Know when to use RGB and CMYK when used can save much time and head aches and the rule is very simple. If your goal is to display images and colors on a computer screen (slide presentations, pages web, movies, power point presentations, email flyers, scanning pictures) use RGB. If you will be printing images and colors which must be in CMYK (although printers can convert images that you will incur additional costs or unexpected results, as there are many color in RGB that can not be reproduced in CMYK.
What is the problem?
The main challenge with the two color spaces printing. RGB colors are bright and vibrant are normally much duller when printed in CMYK (after all since RGB is the same light that never goes to a clearer picture on the paper.) Colors more difficult to reproduce for CMYK is blue and red. On the screen RGB blue looks promising and very blue, on paper, but ends with the navy instead. If you have already printed a page with clear blue links on you know exactly what I mean.
Is there a solution to the problem of RGB to CMYK?
Yes The solution is to always work in CMYK when printing. If you use a print design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PageMaker, Quark, Freehand, etc.) then you can select CMYK before starting and do not having to worry about anything. If you use a program that was not designed for printing (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.) then you will never able to change to CMYK because the software was not designed for printing. Okay useful to have the right software.
