something I need to know about taking Glipizide?

Im a type 2 diabetes and which was recently changed to this new med. I was on metformin for almost a year and the side effects while not leaving. So my doc changed me to this new drug. Are there any something I should know about this news? Yesterday evening I had a bad night! I ate a late dinner. a big salad with tons of vegetables, ham or turkey, and half a grilled cheese sandwich. about an hour later I get a scoop of Vanilla Ice cream and diet root beer. at 2am I felt like I was on fire and all the fun. Then I checked my blood sugar levels. 58! I drank some apple juice to increase a little and make a sandwich of peanut butter. I felt better almost immediately. Is this drug known for going low at night? Instructions that says to take one tablet once a day. Can I take it before bedtime. it's a bad idea?

Glipizide is a sulfonylurea. Sulfonylurea insulin production. Metformin increases insulin resistance. (Diabetes Type 2 usually produces enough insulin, or even an excess of insulin, but are struggling to absorb properly because of insulin resistance. Metformin is really a drug "Miracle" drug for diabetes will measure their ability to not cause hypoglycemia or severe side effects – mostly people, anyway!) sulfonylureas are known to cause hypoglycemia, such as overwork the pancreas. The sulfonylureas are frequently prescribed with metformin. I strongly advise you talk to your doctor about taking glipizide early morning or at noon. Most doctors do not prescribe sulphonylureas especially before bed because the risk of hypoglycemia during sleep. Taking glipizide morning gives the medicine time to disappear before you sleep and also helps you control your blood sugar is probably higher when – in the morning. And, of course, is more likely that the announcement hypoglycemia when awake.
